I can't wait. That is really nice looking.
The things that works for me is...............
1) I cut off ALL the lights in the room, sometimes it's so dark, I have to use a flashlight to find the animal to line it up to get a shot & make sure ya use full flash. Also, it's better to stand back bout 3 - 4ft and zoom in so the flash don't over expose
2) I leave all the light on, back up & zoom in with flash on.
3) The BEST pics I've ever took was taking my animals outside on a nice day. This by far the best way to capture the animals true colors and not having to worry bout over exposure. Depending on where you live will determine that. It's way to cold in TN for me. I recommend outside above all.
Sometimes ya just gotta play around & curse ( LOL) a little bit until you get the pic you want to truely represent the animals "true" colors.
I hope I gave you some info that will help you. If I can help you in anyway (by no means am I a good photographer) BUT, I do get by, please e mail me. If I don't have the answer..........I know alot of people that photograph herps & I'll do my best to find you an answer.
If you'd like, go to my site & you can see my photos & see if ya like em. http://imageevent.com/easttnreptiles
Here's one of my fav. pics. I shoot alot of my animals inside a cooler. Keeps the animals in one place & the white background usually makes their colors show up better. Just make sure to clean the cooler between using different animals, if ya deside to try it. Also if the animal is angry ,shy or just down right mean......shutting the cooler for a few mins & leaving the animal in the dark seems to calm my animal down.
Good Luck,

light... I've had no luck indoors yet. Outside on a cloudy day is best, also near a window works great also. Forget the flash unless your camera allows you to adjust it (dail it down) , use no flash and custom white balance indoors for the best results.
Killer labino btw.....
