Malaysian leaf frog

Carlton Dec 15, 2004 05:41 PM

Anyone working with Megophrys nasuta? I've had one male since May who is doing OK, but is not the "voracious" feeder often described. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something here. He is calling and reactive to humidity and light changes, does not show any specific health problems and weight is not dropping. But, I am a bit concerned. He's in a 40 gal breeder with false bottom, 1/3 filtered water area, cork and ghost wood hides, layers of magnolia leaf litter, 12 hour light cycle, temp about 72 F, humidity cycles from about 50% to 80% with a cycling ultrasonic humidifier. I've been feeding gutloaded crix and Blaberus roaches, but they are not disappearing very fast. He's very secretive and won't feed while being watched. Neat frog...don't want anything to happen to him.

Sounds just like mine.... they don't move around too much. I've only seen mine eat once or twice now. They seem to eat more in private.... BTW, have you ever run across breeding info for this frog? I have searched high and low.... no luck yet.

Can anyone out there help me, I'm looking for breeding info for a pair of Malaysian leaf frogs (Megophrys nasuta)

Thanks
