I am rotating my male between 5 females and was wondering what is a good window to let him load up the gun between copulation?

Its snake and keeper and situation specific. Sometimes its needed, sometimes its not. Sometimes its beneficial sometimes its a detriment. Its really case-specific and for anyone to predict whether or not your situation would benefit from it is impossible.
If the male is a thin little guy, then even a feeding might be needed. I find that I feed quite a few breeder males during January and February to let them recharge. But then again, there's quite a few that I don't. This is where observing your animals and not following a formula or recipe is key.
