Theoretically: 2 (one year to create hets and then breed the hets to each other).
I've heard that the blazing blizzards don't really prove out to follow the punnet square exactly... I guess it's a little more difficult. I haven't worked with them personally but I think someone said that over at fauna...

thats the math i got...but i figured it had to be a little more difficult than that to produce a thousand dollar lizard...your thoughts?

A blazing blizzard is homozygous for two recessive traits. If you bred a Tremper albino to a blizzard, you would get normals het for both traits. Now statistically, if you breed those double hets back to each other, you would get a 1/16 chance of producing a blazing blizzard. However, it's turning out to be much more difficult than that. Some people speculate that the location of the chromosomes where the mutations occur increases the difficulty of producing a blazing blizzard. That could very well be the same reason why it's so much harder to produce a Tremper patternless albino than a Rainwater patternless albino.
But anyway, if you're trying to produce your own blazing blizzards, stastically you actually get much better odds by breeding a Tremper albino het blizzard to a blizzard het Tremper. And if you think Tremper blazing blizzards are worth a lot, imagine how much Bells and Las Vegas blazing blizzards could go for. Each has only had one breeder successfully produce them.
