Lighting???

ejaquish Dec 16, 2004 04:20 AM

I am custom building a tank for two collard lizards. The dimensions of the tank are going to be 44x22x22 which is about a 50 gallon tank. I was just wondering what kind of lighting and heat sources I should use for the tank?? I have read on some other sight that I can buy flood lights at hardware store for the heat. Is that true? I have also read in some sites that the lizards need uvA and uvB lights, but have read in some that they only need uvB. Is that also true. Thanks for any help

If you scroll down a bit and read some of the threads started by momto6, we just had all kinds of discussions about lighting. It should help you a lot!

If I had my terrarium to build over, I would not have made it 24" high. The beneficial light rays only penetrate up to 12", and I have had to pile a lot in there to encourage them to stay up high.
