Update on Grumpy's Eggs,

funkymonkey Dec 16, 2004 05:18 AM

Well on day 7 it looked as though we have 5 or possibly 6 that are ok.
I shone a torch through all 8 eggs and could see pink veins in 6 and nothing in the other 2.
This sort of ties in with the fact that the 2 with no veins have gone very hard, like normall eggshell hard, they are also still pure white where as the apparently good eggs are off white and the white ones are still the same size as when they were laid, where as the off white ones have grown at least 5mm in a week,

Was quite amased on the size when we measured them.

But most importantly of all Grumpy is back to her old self.

fiddle already ! Always a good thing when the girls come through this healthy. I think people take it for granted that thats what they do in the wild and all is well.

But sometimes things dont turn out as well and Mommy lizards have a hard time laying. So its wonderful shes back to herself with some fertile eggs in the cooker.

Hopefully in a short time you will be posting baby pics. Something to make Grumpy Proud, hahahahhaha or should I say ...

make FUNKY proud? LOL

I have a very strong feeling you'll have a bunch of baby lizards running around soon. And I'll bet ya that at least a few are some of the recently passed-on collareds! If one is real mean with funny stripes... That's Novia! Haha

Hope all goes well within the next few weeks.
