skin over the eyes after shed.

brian218 Dec 16, 2004 06:13 AM

Hello all. Thanks for any help you could give. My female ball is about six months old. She shed about two weeks ago but still had alot of skin left on her head. I fed her and let it go for a few days then took her out and got some off without much problem. But the old skin is still over the eyes. She has ate two nice sized mice in the two weeks and seems to be acting normal, she isn't camped out in her hide all the time. Should I still wait? Thanks for your time.

Or you could use the ol' damp pillowcase trick. I do.

If your snake is pretty docile, I'd try just taking a warm (clean) wash cloth and lightly rubbing the caps off her eyes. Otherwise it won't hurt her to wait until her next shed, and they should come off. Next time, try raising the humidity a bit, or providing a humid hide box during her shed, it will make it easier for her.
