Looks like a great deal. For $9.99 you can't go wrong. Its always nice to get a digital reading on temps and humidity.

depending on what you'll pay for shipping you may just want ot go to HD and get one of these. The daily min/max and the sensor probe are great. This you can move the probe to different places to get different reading whihc is really nice as the unit just stays in one spot. I have had mine for about 1.5 year and have had no problems.

just my experience

does yours have a probe for the humidity or is it built into the body of the unit? mine is in the body of the unit and think that it would be ideal to have it out on a probe, i worry that if i put the main unit into the cage it would get wet and ruined. i have had overspray get on it numerous times and it wil say "HI". do i worry to much?

>>> do i worry to much?

LOL! - yup! Just kidding. I am sure that some will break easily if oversprayed but mine has been fine. I don't deliberately spray but b/t the hand misting and humidifier mist it sometimes gets a direct hit. If it raises it comes right back down. Just place it high and out of the way. Just my 2 cents

READ THIS! Read the description of the unit carefully. The hygrometer sensor is NOT in the probe! The thermometer is. To get the humidity level you have to put the whole unit in the cage. Combination hygrometer/thermometer units with probe are fairly common, but the humidity sensor is almost always in the main unit. A metal surfaced probe can't detect humidity levels. I've made this mistake a few times, but close reading of the instruction booklet usually makes it clear.

You can get one very similar at Walmart for $15 and not have to worry about shipping. It has a probe that you can place within the cage as well.

All digital hygrometers like that are completely inaccurate. Expect to pay over a $100 for a real hygrometer.

define useless?

accurate within 10%?

if i want my humidity to be 50% and its off by 10% then that gives me a range of 45% to 55% which ain't to bad for our needs

also can I use it as more as an indication to form intelligent paterns...my cham "seems" fine if i keep it around X and who cares if it reads 50% but is actually 66.375%

Kinda like how I drive a jeep which has an inaccurate speedometer. Off by about 10% so if i am going a shown speed of 55MPH i am actually going 60.5MPH. It might make some go nuts, but "Its a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand"

If by useless you mean reads 30% high one day and 30% low the next then that is useless
