Ok goofey question: Is it necessary to brumate snakes?? Also, if I do not want to brumate them, what is the recommended procedure to keep the snakes from trying to brumate themselfs?? Thanks in advance for any information that can be given. The Species that I am working with are Bulls and Great Basin Gopher snakes. Have a great holiday season.

It is not necessary to brumate (hibernate) bullsnakes unless you plan to breed them. Just keep them at the usual activity temperatures and keep feeding. This is personal experience. I've had little experience with Great Basin gophers, but they are so closely related to bullsnakes that I'd expect them to act the same way.
