My 1st Snake

Teckman Dec 16, 2004 02:17 PM

After several weeks of research I finally decided on a high yellow ball python. And she is Beatuiful.

As far as the tank set up goes I have a 30 gallon tank, with a basking area that is about 90C and the other side of the tank is around 76C. I have 2 hides one on either side of the tank and the water dish in the middle.
If any one could give me some tips on any further tips on tank set up and feeding strategies it would be much appreciated

as far as feeding goes I figured to attempt a feed on sunday the 20th and unsure if I should use a seperate tank to feed and the best type of rodent to feeds her.
she is about 2.5feetlong

Thanx in advance
Teckman

Try to up your cool end to 80F, 76 is a little low. Try to find an appropriate sized rat for him. You want something that is about the same size around as he is. I feed my 32" girl small rats every 3-5 days and she will nail them back no problem, she weighs 396g. They are just a bit bigger than an adult mouse.
