New Basking Area Pictures... L@@K!!

Johnstud56 Dec 16, 2004 02:52 PM

Well I have the 2 basking areas setup, I have a real nice hide (pictured) on the warm side, also used as the main basking area... the uvb light will be purchased next week and I am buying a nice big log hide for the cool side.... This is taking the place of the big cinder block that was in there, what do you guys think? Its only 10" tall, but I am building a platform this weekend to raise it to 15 1/2 inches where the basking spot will read 123 degrees, and Im going to buy a shallower food bowl becuase I think mines too big for 2 Uros that are only 7-8 inches long... theyre only 1 year old! Thanks for everything guys!

Also the weight on top is just being placed there until it dries...

A nice classic retes stack. Should work great... provides tight hides and basking all in one.

I went with the same idea of using tile in the stack. I like the idea of the tile absorbing heat better than wood and passing it down to the next layer of the stack.

If you find the layers aren't quite tight enough for the little guys you can slip another piece of tile or wood between the levels until they grow up a bit.

Looks good! Good job - especially in such a short period of time.
