What is market price for a 16" 35lb female Sulcata?

scottsserpentes Dec 16, 2004 06:40 PM

I purchased her in 1994 as a hatchling. She has good shell growth. I looked on the classifieds but could not find a large female for sale. Just wondering a ball park price.
Thanks
Scott

It's worth whatever you can get for it. If you can find someone who is not into tortoises and is looking for a big a$$ tortoise that is your best bet. You're looking for a huge ignorant factor.

I could probably get 2 or 3, if not more, for nothing right now.

Ed took the words right out of my mouth LOL. There are so many sulcatas both males and females, big ones and smaller ones that are looking for homes, not sure you can get much for her if any.

unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your position, there are people who will still pay big bucks for a big tortoise. As I mentioned, these are people who are usually not connected to the chelonian world (which is definately a different planet for the most part) and really don't know any better.

how have you determined this is a female? 35 lbs isn't that
big, and I've seen larger sulcatas on this forum turn out to
be males that people had been convinced were females for years.
