Can Deflated eggs hatch??

mike3 Jul 02, 2003 08:28 PM

I have a clutch a malis eggs in the incubator right now and they are on day 38. There are 6 good eggs and 3 bad eggs. I threw one of the bad eggs away because it was starting to decompose on day 3. Anyway, there are 2 eggs, they are really deflated but they are not gushy inside. they are a dark durty white and the egg is caved in on the top sids. should i throw them away or no. I already separated them into two little deli cups so they are both isolated. Should i just keep them for the heck of it or should i throw them away. The reason why i didn't throw them away is because at the bottom of each of them there is a lump/ or baby uro that takes up the bottom half. What should i do?

i dont know if they would hatch but since it isnt hurting anything i would keep them...u never no if they might be lil uros ur throwin away! lol but usually denting isnt a good sign. how are you incubating them... deli cups, vermiculite, and heat lamps or do you actually have an incubator?

i have a hovabator with a window view. It is at 93 degrees F. i am using deli cups with vermiculite for the dented eggs and chinese food plastic containers filled with vermiculite for the 6 good eggs. These chinese food containers are perfect for incubating small reptile eggs. But make sure to clean them out good before using them. I have already hatched Bearded Dragon and anole eggs with these chinese food containers so they work good for me.

93 degrees seems a little too high. I'm not sure 4 uromastyx but, I incubate my bearded dragon eggs at 83 degrees. I've also been told over 90 degrees is fatal.

Douglas dix told me he incubates his uro eggs at 93 degrees F, and that it gives really good results. Beardies and uros live on different continents so thats probably why incubating temps are somewhat different.
