sometimes my brevi's did and Luna (veiled) when she was younger, but not the whole shed. As for a reason - it could provide nutrients and/or to not leave remains for a predator to see and therefore know that prey is nearby (many species of caterpillar do this). This is based solely on my my knowledge of why invertebrates do this.

Yes,
They will eat their shed skin. Reason.....why waste a perfectly good food item?
