The numbers reflect sex or lack of being sexed. The first number is reserved for the number of males for a particular species. The second number after the period is the number of females. Some times you will see a second period and third number, where sex can not be told on the animals yet. So 1.0 would mean one male, 1.5 would mean one male and five females. 3.4.5 would mean three males, four females, and 5 unsexed of that particular species. Hope this helps!
