Fluker Heat Pad wattage

gila7150 Jul 02, 2003 09:00 PM

I was wondering if anyone knows the wattage of the Fluker small heating pads. I'm using a thermostat and want to make sure that I stay under it's limit.
The wattage info isn't on the box or the pad itself and I emailed Fluker but haven't received an answer.
Thanks,
Chris

Most small UTH pads run 8-14watts. My Fluker UTH was bad right out of the box. Another tip with UTH, is to attach the adhesive to ceramic tile then tape or prop it to the glass. I regret ever sticking one of those onto the aquarium; cleaning is more cumbersome and its basically a permanent fixture once applied since its very easy to damage trying to remove.

I have attached them to ceramic tiles which I place under my Neodeshas. The box said that they only heat up to 20 degrees above room temp. Well, they reached temps of almost 140 degrees when I tested them and my room temp is in the low 70's. I have them hooked up to a helix and they seem to work ok now.
Thanks for the info,
Chris
