Poisonous Plants?

Walker360 Dec 17, 2004 02:10 PM

I looked at some lists and didn't see these on them, but I want to make sure they are OK. Does anyone know if Camellias or Floribundas are poisonous for chameleons?

Thanks.

Not that I am aware of. Here is a link to Cornell University's Posionous Plants page:

You can search based on common, scientific, or species affected. Unfortunately, the only reptile listed is an iguana, but if it is on the list for iguanas, I certainly wouldn't use it for a cham.

Actually I think that the floribunda one is called Brunfelsia, it says both on the tag.

Hi - Camellias are not toxic. The word "floribunda" is only a term used to describe a variety or cultivar - it is not the name of a plant. Unless the tag has a scientific name (common names are too varied) that you can reference, I would not purchase it unless you know what it is. Was there another name on the "floribunda" tag?

Sorry, posted this before looking at you other post. Yes, Brunfelsia is toxic to cats and dogs so I would not risk it.
