Finally A Semi Successful outing

USNHM242 Jul 02, 2003 09:13 PM

Finally today I had a successful field outing. I was able to find a Red Diamond Rattlesnake (Crotalus Ruber) while herping behind base housing in Camp Pendleton, CA. She was about 4 feet long and she is a little north of her traditional range. Anyways thanks for all the tips you guys gave me earlier.
Enjoy her pics and Good Hunting.

Thanks for sharing, finding one snake like that would definately make up for finding nothing else all year!!!

Rubers can be found as far North as Ivine/laguna hills and east to whitewater road area near Palm springs. They occur in Yorba Linda, Corona also. Why they stop ther is a Mystery cause the habitat isnt much different.
