Finally A Semi Successful outing

USNHM242 Jul 02, 2003 09:13 PM

Finally today I had a successful field outing. I was able to find a Red Diamond Rattlesnake (Crotalus Ruber) while herping behind base housing in Camp Pendleton, CA. She was about 4 feet long and she is a little north of her traditional range. Anyways thanks for all the tips you guys gave me earlier.
Enjoy her pics and Good Hunting.

We latter relocated her away from housing to a more remote area on the base

She was actually a real chunky and healthy one. She didn't seem gravid just fat. Anyways hope you liked the pic. The crotalid population here in Oceanside is extremely healthy.
