how do you get him out?

compasscreek Jul 02, 2003 09:19 PM

any advise on how to get a chameleon out of his cage? yesrday i tried just using my finger but i was to shakey and he just retreated to the back of the plant. today i tried a wooden spoon but with the same results. i'm not trying over and over again as i don't want to stress him out too much. as it is now my attempts cause him to turn a mauve color and he goes to the back of his plant.

Ijust cup mine gentley with my fingers spred, palm on top. small amout of presure, pulling, not squeezing, and he should release branches or whatever one foot at atime and start grabing your fingers. might have to use your other hand to release his tail!Onto a stick trick won't work with mine.

Left hand cupped behind him, right hand underneath and in front of him. As my left hand begins to "chase" him, he "escapes" onto the palm of my right hand. There is no potential for harming him with this tehnique.

Chams have very strong legs/feet and can hurt themselves if pulled off of a branch.
