Since torts are long lived, I was wondering how long it takes a hatchling to be sexually mature. I am wondering about the smaller, more or less common hobbyist Med. torts such as Hermanns, greeks, marginateds, and especially egyptians.
What about the next size level of redfoots, yellow foot, stars?
also, how is a "four inch" tort measured? is it the length across the top of the carapace (a curved line) or is the tort beside a flat ruler on the ground that measures from the front of the most anterior part of the shell to the back of the shell.
