Vacationing? Oh no, how we gonna do that.....

Its me again, the girl with a thousand questions...lol

My husband and I were talking the other day about when we take off on our weekend trips and such in the summer time, and we were wondering what we were gonna do about caring for our lizard!! Gulp! My mother in law, who usually keeps an eye on our cats and dogs is petrified of our sweet little Agama, Gypsy.

I know I can get a timer for her heat lights and such, and I think I read somewhere about an automatic "cricket dispenser".
Is there really such thing? and how would that work with live crickets??

I guess I am jus looking for some tips on what everyone else does with their herps when they go on vacation?? And ANY tips will help....lol Thanks again

Oh yeah, and I tried to post a pic of Gypsy this morning on the site, but cant for the life of me figure out how to do it!! LOL
was gonna even attach it to my sig, but couldnt figure that out either!! Go Figure....:P

When I go on vacation my 10 year old neighbor takes care of my reptiles. I give him a key to the house, and he and his father come over. I show him what to do ahead of time and leave him detailed instructions as well. He is wonderful, and I have never had a problem. Maybe you have a friend or neighbor who can care for it?

When ever I go out of town I just turn off the lights, and put a fresh bowl of water in my lizards cage. Rember lizards are cold blooded animals, and when they are cold they can go a long time with out food, but when there are hot they need to eat at least 3 times a week. All animals need water, and all animals drink water every day or two so make shure they have water. Merry Cristmas and a Happy New Year!!
