i recent recieved at panther and had asked a similar question. i have used apples, carrots, grapes, and a lemon. i think i have had the most luck with the apples and carrots so i continue to use those. friuts like the ones i mentioned above are good to keep the crickets hydrated. one thing that i stubbled across this evening was dog food. my son asked me why the crickets where eating another cricket so i put 2 pieces of puppy food in the crickets aquaruim and they LOVE it! apparently the friut hasn't been enough.

I'm going to reply to both questions in one post, so bear with me, i'll try to keep it simple.
First, Veilds eat leaves. You should put a Hibiscus or a Pothos *thats REGULAR ivy ***NOT*** ENGLISH Ivy* In with him. He can snack on that as he wishes and then when it gets ragged just pull it out and add a new one. Several of the other people on the forum do this, and im sure they'll post on what's good and whats not.
Second, dont feed your crickets dog food! Reptiles should not injest dog food, especially kibble, because its high in ash and some protiens that the reptiles can't utilize, and this can lead to fatty liver disease! Feed your crickets orange, potato, apple, collards, mustard greens, kale, strawberries, ANYTHING that's dark green and leafy EXCEPT spinach! Or feed them a commercial cricket diet such as Cricket Total Bites or Flukers Orange Cube. Discontinue the dog food. Its much better to feed your crickets a diet thats nutritionally complete for what they are feeding.
Hope that helps,
Jamie
