no offense meant BUT, its the natural beauty of ETBs that makes them so appealing....it will be a sad day when the production of freakish morphs becomes the goal....leave that to the corn/hondo/ball/GTP crowd
Little harsh, but I agree with your basic point. People forget how cool the animals were before the genetics game started.
I've never seen these Emerald's before ! Good Luck, in your "Hunt for Info." on these ! Take Care ! & Thank's for posting the Great Pic.'s !

They are all dead but I have a thought that just came to mind after seeing the pics. I just recently heard of three animals that were from French Guyana that were mostly yellow with green down the back and black markings. These animals were found at the border and the man carring them was forced to release them back into the wild. There is a pic in one of the arboreal books of an emerald that is yellow with a green stripe down the back....French Guyana local is the rumor but who knows. I wonder if these animals were from French Guyana parents. I believe the adults were in Germany. Just a thought........
Hello Matt,
Hope all is well.....and congrats on all of this year's babies
Just to share.
I actually have a book with a pic of an emerald that was solid yellow on the lower half of it's sides...coming from the bottom. It was in captivity, the book is in french, titled "Reptiles and Amphibians of Guyana"
A very rare morph of the species indeed, the distribution of the yellow being quite uniform and unscattered, forming a distinct and hard break from yellow to dark green on the side of the emerald. Lots of potential.
regards,
Arnold
Hey Arnold,
Good to hear from you! I have seen a pic of the animal you are talking about also and from what I am told the emeralds from French Guyana sometimes have that 'look', maybe somewhat like an anaconda phase or similarly uncommon animal they are hard to come by. The guy I just talked to about these said he has seen pictures of the animals from French Guyana and they are very high yellow up the sides and are dorsally dark green with black patterning down the back. I will see if I can get pics from him someday.........
Glad to see you around Arnold!
a link I found doing a spanish search for etbs (nice yellow!!)

With unusual emeralds like this female occasionally coming out of the wild, and dedicated breeders working with them, Im sure sometime in the future we will also see lemon tree equivalents of the emerald tree boas
Arnold

you cant leave us hanging..whats the story on that snake?
Sorry about that....
The pic was shared to me by another fellow collector who does not own the animal. I was told it is from Guyana.
Regarding guyanan emeralds, I met with a reptile dealer in france two months back, being an emerald enthusiast, I asked him about the possibilities of acquiring guyanan animals. He told me that Guyanan emeralds were illegal to export, hence there were no emeralds for sale in the french market.
This is probably the main reason why there are so little of these high yellows around. Im sure if the occasional trapper were to be more successful in...............we would see a lot of high yellow surinames as well
