Great batch of photos!!!! Every time I think I'm a purest I see a clutch like your pines or Sonorans and get all excited! Do you know what you'll be breeding this year???

How big is that girl now? Tom - since you have a collection of breeding adults, do you notice that either the males or females of Pits. tend to be larger than the other.

Of the corns I've had and seen, males tend to grow larger almost always. Regards - Matt

Well, my Sonoran male is about as big as the female, but the male Pine is a scrawny little thing for a 6 year old and the female is a monster heavily bodied giant. Oddly enough my male Deppei is bigger than the female at the same age and it's too early to tell with my Jani, but for now the female is twice the males weight and at least 20 inches longer. My male Brooksi seems heavier and longer than the female, I think it varies for the most part. I have many males that don't cost much at all to feed because they're much more interested in mating as opposed to eating for the majority of the year, yet some of them are quite large too? If I had to guess I'd guess that the female is more often the largest when both have a few years on them. Tom Stevens
