Naultinus elegans: AKA: New Zealand Green Gecko

Johan Dec 20, 2004 04:18 AM

I think that's Naultinus stellatus. Not elegans

Stellatus vs. Elegans.....based on what? How can you tell from that picture?

Johan Dec 21, 2004 02:17 PM

N.elegans has no black around the spots if there are spots.
Also elegans is bright green and never dark green.

N.stellatus has black around the spots on the back.
It can't be N.rudis. They have a yellow tongue.
N.tuberculatus has an orange tongue so it has to be a stellatus.
