Normal?

Giantsfan24 Dec 18, 2004 04:46 PM

He'll do this every couple days. Should I read this as he wants to get closer to the uv bulb and the plant is just too far away?

it's normal but don't let him do that because if he gets too close to the other bulb he can and will get burned or if he stays there to long and he gets scared of something and falls he could lose some nails or even take a fatal plunge. He might also see something that he wants to get on thats in your house.

Thanks so much. I am glad i don't have the only upsidedown hangin cham. Do you think he is doing it to get under the uv light? I ask because that is really all he ever goes under when he is upside side down. Should i put another uv in there? It is a brand new exoterra 5.0 bulb. I am planning on getting a second ficus plant to fill in more of the cage. He doesnt stay under the heat lamp for more than 3 or for seconds. To all those who helped with with the eating situation a week and a half ago, thanks. He is eating more regularly.

Try putting some basking branches closer to the UV, that will help him avoid the whole "hanging off the ceiling" thing & all the bd things that cn go along with it =)

what size cage is he in? You don't want it too big yet or he may not be able to find his food, plus that he'll have much greater distance to fall. From what I understand you can keep them in a glass tank until a few months old in order to keep humidity up and easier to find his prey.

Right now, he is pretty good about finding his prey. About the falling, i am going to add another ficus so it will better fill out the cage. And for humidity, i am getting a holmes humidifier attached to pvc like yours. I just wanted to know if your guys chams did that and if it was a good or bad sign. Thanks guys.

The only time Luna does/di that was when she was young (got her at 4 months) and when she is restless before laying. your guy is probably just checking out the new digs!
