Feeding Cup

Walker360 Dec 18, 2004 06:00 PM

I decided to try a feeding cup because my chameleons eat small crickets and I'm not 100% sure that they are able to find all of them, because their cages are fairly large and there are a lot of plants in there, so the crickets may be hiding.

Am I just being paranoid? I never actually see crickets in there, so I imagine they get all of the crickets, but I'm not sure. Once they move on to bigger crickets it will be ok, but should I use a feeding cup for the time being? And what kind of container should I use? And will they find it by themselves? Cages are about 30Lx18Wx36H each.

Thanks a lot.
I just want to make sure they get everything they need to grow properly and be healthy.

Bah I always forget to mention something. One of my chameleons (Rex)is about 3 and 1/2 months and the other (Godzilla) is about 2 and 1/2 months.

you can use a feeding cup at any age as long as your cham goes for it. i personally like it better because i can keep track of how many hes eaten and no loose ones will get a chance to nibble on them and if they get hungry and they cant get out of the cage. just move the cup around the cage every now and them to keep them thinkin.

Ok cool, i just thought it would be a good idea while the crickets are small and can hide easily, but i might use it all the time actually because it seems like a good idea. I can just use a piece of tupperware, right? Im going to put some scotch tape around the sides so its real slippery becuase i don't have a very deep container. I doubt they can get out, unless they grow brains and realize that all they have to do is jump to get free...

Thanks
