Here is my newest acquisition. She is cooling at 50 degrees as we speak. I have a male that looks almost identical to her with wider bands. Let's see what they'll make this coming season............

Jim,
That one is gorgeous! Is it a female? Is it an '04? Did you produce it or purchase it?
Very nice snake.

Here is a shot of the pair together before they went into brumation:
It's an 03 0.1 that i purchased local. And she gets 1 more year of growing!
Thanks Jim
John,
Those are great looking snakes, both in color and pattern. You're brumating them at 50*F? I haven't done that yet with mine and didn't know they could tolerate it that cold. Of course, I just have yearlings, so will take it a little easier on them. Take care...

Thanks for the compliment Terry,
My hibernation room is fluctuating between 51 when the a/c kicks off and up to 58 when it kicks on again. I neec a room for hibernation since I live in South Texas and temps rarely drop that low and hold for any period of time. Between cold fronts it will reach near 80 here in the middle of winter.
These snakes are mountaine. They originate in the Mountains in Nueveo Leon, Mexico where at higher altitude the temps are well below 50 degrees.

Thanks for the additional info, John. You've got some nice thayeri. I believe we've talked about P. g. meahllmorum too from se. TX. I've got a pair of Brazos Island rats.
I live in n. Michigan. I have the opposite problem. Today I had to open the door to the Hibernation Room, because it got down to (-10*)F. last night outside, and was cooling my room too much. I don't like the room temp to get below 50*F. It's interesting how we get the same results by two very different methods, haha.
I'll be moving to AZ, eventually, and I'll probably put some of your info to use. Have a great holiday season...
