dropped tail

we just had an accident...one of my females droped her tail, this is the first time any of my leos have dropped and tail and im not sure what to do. the whole tail was dropped, there wasnt any blood or anything. should i put anything on her or what. any help would be apreciated, thanks

Well, you're going to have to seperate the wounded leo to it's own enclosure, as it needs to heal and be by itself. Blood loss stops quick in leos due to constriction of the blood vessels, try putting a bit of neosporin on the stump to help with infection control.

Your leo lost it's greatest reserve of fat, so you're going to need to keep it well fed and in a quiet place till it heals. Re grown tails tend to look like radishes in shape, and are usually a different color.

thanks...yea i already seperated her and i know she's gonna have a funky looking tail now...so just put a little neosporian on there, should i leave her alone and wait till tomarrow to mess with her or just go ahead and do it now?

Go ahead and do it now. Then leave her alone as much as you can.
