Seems like most forum posts are from the East Coast, with the most commonly mentioned type of snake being the Eastern.
I've had 4 types of common Kings:
Eastern (getula)
Desert (splendida)
Sonoran Black (nigrita)
Californian (california)
My favorite is the Sonoran (Mexican) Black. They are voracious eaters, yet very docile when handled - usually. Not quite as nippy and nervous as Cal Kings when juveniles.
Are there any other Nigrita enthusiasts on the West Coast who want to swap stories & insights?? Wait until you see a photo of my 60-gallon vivarium that mimics the Sonoran Desert!
