humidity question

Teckman Dec 18, 2004 10:27 PM

Just got my new BP on wednesday, and having troubles stablizing the heat and humidity together.
I use a 30gal tank using a uth on one side and a IR bulb(100W) on the other
my heat range on the hot side is 92F, and on the cools is 80F but the humidity was 40%
After reading several posts I followed armygirls suggestion and duct taped the just over 2/3's of the top screen no the humidity went up to 55% but the heat sky rocketed to almost 100F on the hot side
right now I don't have a digital thermometer just 2 analogs and they are about 1.5 inches above the substrate
any sugestions on how to affordably regulate these 2 variables would be greatly appreciated

also when should I give the 1st feed are there any signs I should watch for that she is ready

Hook up a thermostat to the heat source. Or if you can't afford a thermostat, hook up a dimmer switch to the heat source so that you can manually adjust the temp using the dimmer switch.
