Not eating much

jsc230 Dec 18, 2004 10:38 PM

My gecko Leviculus hasn't been eating much lately. She usedto eat every other day. Now sometimes she eats only once a week. She doesn't seem to be getting thin or less active. And she hasn't pooped this week (probably from not eating much). But I plan to give her a warm bath tom. see if she can work some poo out for me. Should the water be about 88 degrees?

I'm thinking the lack of eating souldbe from it being winter out. Her temps are normal, maybe 1-2 degrees cooler than in the summer but it is ussually around 88 the lowest it gets is 86.

Like I said she acts normal, always wants to come out of her tankwhen she sees me enter the room. Just less eating.

Thanks for any help

Sometimes leos get "bored" with their food and stop eating for a little while. Since she has fat stored up I wouldn't worry. What do you have as substrate?

I was thinking it was something like that. Think she would like it if i got her a few crickets as a break from te mealies i feed?

I keep her on ceramic tile, so impaction shouldn't bea problem. Only thing she could eat is the moss in her hide. She digs in it but doesn't eat it (that i have ever seen, i am i the room with her a lot)
