When is a beardie considered full grown?

RaderRVT Dec 18, 2004 11:39 PM

I was ewondering when you figure a beardie is done growing? My male is a year old and I am wondering if he will get bigger. He doesn't have that full grown look at yet. He is 19" and about 400 grams. His parents where much heavier than that. I figured he would be at least 500 grams.

Zooki never reached his full lenght and weight til the 3rd year, Sandy grew another 1.5 inches after her 3nd birthday. All our year olds a(about 16 months old now) have slowed in growth and weight, but they are still increasing slowly. So yes, I think many of them do grow more.

Thank you Cheri. You know the "look" I am describing? Also, can you post the picture of your big boy again? My computer was tampered with an then crashed (long, very frustrating story with the loss of all my data and pictures, including all my masters work) and I had his picture saved on there to show people. Thanks!

Oh Stacey, I am so sorry your lost everything... especially your masters work!! if I can help with other things let me know, I have most things backed up too.

Zooki had a new picture taken with a little friend, this is him and Shelia who was impacted badly when she came to us, but recovered and is now in her new home with a teacher.

NOTE: There were 3 adults standing around the dragons when this picture was taken

And Zooki in the motel room at the Adam's Mark during Daytona Expo, with Dr Kathryn Tosney, this lets you see his size a little better, and his blue blanket he is passionate for, he is 1048 grams and 25 inches. We took him there to have his size verified for the record of the largest BD known in Captivity

I may have to ask for some stuff. I had a whole folder of adeno and yellow fungus info from yoiur posts and your site that I may have to ask you for if I can't find them again. I ma going to be rebuilding this week. They are trying to recover stuff but it is not going well. Oh well, I have to put it in perspective, it is awful but there are some many worse things that could happen. All of my family and animals are healthy so a few computer files and pictures gone is not that big of a deal. (I sound so calm because a few days have gone by. I totally freaked when it first happened )

Sorry to hear about the loss of your masters data. I have lost data in the past and know it can be devastating. I do not personally have one of these but have heard many good reviews on Maxtor's one touch backup drives over the last year or so. It may be something to consider in the future when working on something as important as your masters degree. Anyways hope everything works out for the best.

Cheri, he is spectacular. Let me know when he has some offspring available, that is if you can find a female big enough to breed with him lol.
