Three were many more in that clutch, but the others did fine at 7-8 months being 15-17 inches and good weight and all these had good care from hatcling on, just not growing, so we agreed to take these four and see what we could do
I usually only do 4 rehabs at a time as they take so much work and sometimes medical expenses. A few days after these four came, we got another call on four in that needed care badly, so I had 8 at the same time and the other four needed medical care and close monitoring. I know other rescues and Jane at Mid Michigan Herp had some standing request for bearded dragons and none at the time so she took the others from this clutch and we passed them to her in Daytona.
She placed Cammie with an older couple and the other one went to a young man I beleive, I trust her, she screens every well and I knew they were healthy and appears the growing issue was kick started and working. AS far as far as I know the others fromt he same cluctch are doing fine.
From the other group of four, the 2 year old girl was kept by Jane as a family pet, the 2 year old boy when to a mom and dad who's children were all grown, the 1 year old female we named Pineapple and she was adopted locally so I get to see her often and her sister when to Grimdog in MA. Unfortuantely that placement did not work for personal reason and I believe she was sold to someone by his wife Kelly or at least she was advertized for sale. I tried to buy her and another one that came from us back, but never heard back from Kelly.
Of all the rehab or rescues we have placed, they are all in the placement home still and the new owners complying with agreement of placing, but for Pineapple's sister.
I had a few go out last month that had been here for several months, so for the a short time I had none. Then last week got four more in that were not thriving well.
One of the ones that went to a new home was Pineapple locally placed, Shelia who was an impacted baby from a pet store call/ pick up, and Rex, a 4 year old male.
Shelia is with a teacher now about an hour away, it her pictured with Zooki on the thread above
Rex was placed with a Vet Neurologist assistant's brother. He had lost his 3 year old male to leukemia recently and Rex was abandoned on someone's porch... I can not tell you how well those two clicked when they met, it was a wonderful match, Rex needed someone who cared and the young man that came for him needed someone to help him over the hurt of losing a dragon after a long illness. Rex got an experienced owner that obviously already cared about bearded dragons and the new owner got somewhere to channel all that knowledge and care. I never saw a dragon and a person so taken with each other, you could see the bond there in only a few minutes! Rex simple did not want to leave him for a minute. I just heard about him again yesterday and they are both doing great and happy. Rex has the run of the house a lot and watches TV with him from the back of the couch and has a window seat to look out of and watch the world and pounce of sunbeams
