Striped Kassina Poison?

shark_hunter Dec 19, 2004 12:10 AM

HI,
I have a small lizard in the same tank as a striped kassina frog. (I think they are also called bubbling kassina's)
Anyways,
Last night i observed the lizard proceed to try and take a bite out of the kassina when he chomps down he suddenly withdraws and seemed to go into a shock. He was rubbing his head against the ground vigourisly, and looking like he was shocked.
The frog had been hunched up and had blown himself up to look bigger. I touched him with my fingernail and my hand felt kind of weird. It wasnt very painful, a very faint, tingly feeling but it only started after i touched him. Is this why they call them bubbling kassinas? Any help would be appriciated.

Never heard of those guys but it sounds like a mild poison.

Is the little lizard okay?
