Only take dead prey

Aka2212 Dec 19, 2004 07:39 AM

Hi... 3 weeks ago i got my first baby blood. But it's kinda funny, because she will only accept prekilled mice. Forsen/thawed or live prey she wont touch.
Now i have had a lot of different snakes and i have never seen one, prefer pre-killed instead of live prey.

It's not that i'm unhappy with the fact she wont take live prey. I always use prekilled except for those snakes who wont except anything but live prey. I just think it's kinda funny...

Blood is definately a snake like no other D

Just a little addition

When she gets pre-killed, she doesnt even constrict it. If i take a pair of thongs and wriggle the dead mouse a little, she doesnt touch it. It has to lie on the bottom of her cage and she'll come over and gulp it down...

Is it just me or is it a littel strange?

Some of my snakes won't take f/t food right from the tongs, but if you leave it in there with them they go ahead and eat it by themselves when you leave them alone, shy eaters maybe, I really don't care how they eat their food just as long as they eat it Im happy.

Bloods usually like dead prey. It's a good thing too as it saves from any accidents from a bite which isn't good for your snake.
