Genetics Question

mike777777 Dec 19, 2004 11:31 AM

Hi. I have recently introduced a female orange tiger dalmation cresty to my male light coloured buckskin. I am wondering if these colours will come out in the offspring. Are offspring colours and patterns completley dictated by the parents? Or could I be surprised with something new?

Absolutely you might be surprised. Just like people turn up with traits from grandparents and aunts/uncles, something unexpected could result. Ive had babies hatch with patterns/spots that neither of its parents displayed!
