Question about sexing?

catnipcutie Dec 19, 2004 11:49 AM

Hi everyone. The BP I recently got was "popped" at the reptile dealers and they told me it was a female, but I noticed these little spurs that are present in the cloacal region, right next to the cloacal. Someone told me that's a sure fire way to tell it's a boy. is that true? Or are these just normal for all balls? Please let me know.

Thanks.

Determination from spurs on ball pythons is not accurate
at all. Popping is a reasonable way to determine, however
sometimes males can be mis-diagnosed as females (if not done
correctly). If the person you bought it from knew what he
was doing, it is probably a female. If it's important to you
to know, you should have it probed which is considered very
accurate.

Good luck!
