Im sorry i just see how when everyone takes close up shots of there snakes with there cameras it comes out clear. I have a sony DSC-P8 camera and i dont know how to take clear close ups. Anyone know how? once again sorry for this being way off topic

well,
one way to do it would be to take a pic that is well focused at normal range and then zoom in to desired range while editing the photo.
i have a decent digi cam but it doesn't focus well ( or i don't focus it well) close up so this is what i usually end up doing.

Do you use the Macro setting when taking closeups? This must be used for close shots. Try taking some with the camera near the object and some farther away but zoomed in on the object and see what comes out. I would imagine you should be able to take very nice closeups with your camera...just gotta play around with it a little. Let us know how it works out for you.

1) check your manual to see if there's a special macro setting
2) practice on inamiate objects--a film cannister, or magic marker, something with type on it, and experiment to see at what distance you can get a sharp image
3) do you have autofocus turned on?
4) you need bright light to get good pix, if the light's dim your shutter's slow and pix can be blurred just from movement of the camera.
i hope that helps. #2 is the key, probably, after you've checked out the other things.
