Tom and Marcel

Tom,
I think I am going to go ahead and let my female incubate them. It may be a little risky, but well, they do it in nature, and I'm sure she will come through. I heat my room, so temperature regulation will be left up to her.

Marcel,
I do not have any photos of the parents yet, but I will see if I can get some in the next few weeks. I do not own the adults, however, my yearling male is already 40" long and feeding on rat pups every 7 days.
Waar kompt u in nederland vandaan? ik heb voor een year in nederland gewoond. In augustus, ga ik naar de universiteit van amsterdam voor een jar. ik houd van nederland en de nederlandse taal.

here are some photos of my male cape york spotted python, he is a little over 40 inches long and just over a year old.

and on indoor photo up close, this shows his color fairly well, but it is a poor photo otherwise

Here are some tips for maternal incubation that I have used successfully with jungle carpets and childrens pythons. The cage must be set up so the female and the eggs are around a constant 89 degrees F. I do this by placing a heat pad underneath the enclosure or incubation chamber to keep the temp constant. The nice thing is there can be some variation on temperatures in the cooler direction with no ill effects. There needs to be humidity in the enclosure, but not on the substrate or the eggs, that is the substrate that the female is on needs to be completely dry. The first time I tried it with childrens pythons the substrate was too wet and I lost a few eggs that were on the bottom. I use a small platic container filled half with green moss and let the female compact it a while before she lays. You can add water to the lower levels of the moss as long as the moisture doesn't reach the upper layer. this will increase humidity, but not the wetness. I also have a water container right next to the incubation cotainer to increase relative humidity.

In summary, wetness kills eggs but humidity is neccessary.

Good luck,

Also, this coming fall I will be leaving for a year to the university of amsterdam, and in the event that i get no babies from this batch, my pair may be available. Let me know if you are interested.

I'd be interested. Let me know when the time gets closer. I would rather start off with a pair than hatchlings anyway.
