want a star tort

bistro Dec 19, 2004 12:53 PM

I have kept leos for a few years and am looking to get another species as well. I have space to keep them seperated and am willing and able to have good outdoor and indoor enclosures. I have always liked the look of stars, but am baffled by all the different species and subspecies. Can someone point me in the direction of any good articles. Do any of the stars have a more outgoing personality? I would love to have some practical info to help me make my choice. I am in no rush but have looked at Indian Stars, Burmese Stars, Radiateds, and Sri Lanken Stars. What are some of the differences in size, hardiness, personality, etc? Thanks!

I have a couple of Indian stars as well as 5 leopards and a few desert torts. My Indian stars are definitely more shy than the leopards so if you like more outgoing personality the Indian star might not be what you want. They will let me scratch their heads once they see it's me but anybody else their heads & legs are back into their shells. I heard Burmese stars have great personality but don't have any myself. Their husbandry & diet are very similar to the leopards.
