Newbie Question.... About Calling

funnyman527 Dec 19, 2004 03:46 PM

I'm interested in gettign sum FBT's for my 10 gallon tank, and i was wondering if females call as much as males do? And if mayeb i just got two females, would there be any conflict between the two? And if so, how do you sex a FBT? so that when i go and pick mine out i've got a better chance of ending up with the sex that i want.

Also, if it woudlnt be too much trouble, would anyone plz post a pic of their FBT set-up? It'd help me out with deciding wut i wanan do with mine. (i'm thinkin maybe a 70% water 30% land type of deal)

Thanks in advance for everyone's replies.

as far as i know only the males will call. most FBT's sold at petstores like petsmart, petco are wild caught and males. i have 3 in a 10 gallon tank with gravel and a fake log to hold up the gravel for the toads to get out of the water on. then the other side has a filter that splashes onto a rock and fake plants. i have about 3-4 inches of water (I use bottled water). i bought some feeder guppies for the toads to try to eat and still have some. they are doing great. the guppies are to fast for the toads to catch.
i feed mine EOD since they are getting bigger now. sorry i don't have a photo of their tank.
