Story to share

I am ask all the time why I breed snakes. Most people think I am crazy. Today though I had an experience
with a group of friends of my 7 year old daughter. The girls came into the snake room during feeding time
and some of them thought that this was just to cool but some of course felt sorry for the mice. I was checking the
cages of my gravid snakes and one of my pueblans was laying. The girls watched in amazement as she passed one of her eggs.
At the same time they were firing questions at me about the snakes. It was amazing how interested they had become after
seeing the snake lay an egg. All of the sudden snakes were not monsters that kill pretty little mice but intersting beautiful
animals. The change in their attitude was exciting. They were amazed that an egg that size could come from a snake.
After they had experienced the egg laying they were absolutly unafraid. They all just had to handle them. I had to run them out finally
so I could get my work done, but they kept checking in so that they would not miss another egg being laid.

Folks today we have a few more snake lovers in the world. These girls now realize that snakes are wonderful
animals that deserve our help and interest.

John,
That was an awesome story to hear. I have 4 kids and it is always good to hear about children being taught the value of life and an appreciation of the natural world. I wish more children were raised this way.
Post pics of the babies when they hatch!

My youngest is also 7 years old, and it's great when his friends are over and enjoying the reptiles. Enjoy! Duffy
