I recently purchased an Asian water monitor, Snuggles, and she's currently almost 3 feet long StT. Before I purchased her, I asked her primary caregiver what type of set was required and all of that junk and explained to her what I had as a suitable set up. I asked her about what she currently feeding Snuggles and was given appropriate responses.
On to my problem; she won't eat. The room is a constant 73-75 and she has a large enclosure with a water pan that she can fully submerge in. I've tried snails, crickets and goldfish, all of which she was happily eating at the pet store when I observed her feeding. My next food item is going to be some of those carnivore yummies and if that doesn't work, a small live mouse.
I've also noticed that she hasn't once flicked out her tongue since I've gotten her. Could that indicate there's something wrong with her? She does okay when I pick her up, not defecating or attempts to bite, not even a hiss but she does like to claw my hands up. Any ideas?
