Blue Garter from Thurston Co. WA

sisuitl Dec 20, 2004 12:30 AM

Here she is. I found her sunning in the road last June near the Thurston County court house on my way to work one morning. Grabbed her and put her in my backpack so she wouldn't get mushed. After I got her home and took some pics we let her go near where I found her, but far from the road. Her back stripe was nifty, kind of an olive green.

Looks like a Puget Sound garter. They're very abundant by the courthouse and around capitol late, especially in the spring.
