I think the way the Russians celebrate their Christmas Eve is very beautiful, with the Holy Super, and all the symbolism of the coming of the Christ child.

Very Special, the way it should be! I hope you will have a beautiful Christmas also in a few weeks.

Thank you

Well,

This is where its kinda funny. We are actually middle eastern. We celebrate russian christmas because my grand boba and grand dede immigrated from the border of The Ukraine and Turkey in the early 1900's. Because of where they lived in the area, they celebrated like the Ukranians did. Which then lead to the tradition being past down to my generation. I actually eat more tradition turkish foods during the holiday, but we follow the russian & ukranian style of 12 courses.

We have not had kutya in atleast 4 years though. I will have to make it though for the holiday.

I will be spending some of the holiday with my partner, she celebrates normal christmas. I asked her to celebrate my christmas as long as I celebrate her christmas. It turned out well. We are exchanging some presents for both holidays. We didn't want to break either of our traditions.

Cheers
Jason

Hahahha ! Thats good you both can have your own tradition and share it with one another.

I sort of do that with Easter.
My Easter usually falls on a different day than my husbands Greek Easter.

My husband is Greek as I said, but his Grandfather came from Turkey. So I guess hes a TURKEY TOO, hahahahah, kidding.

Its funny because thats when The Greeks and Turkish were at odds with one another, big time, but seems people STILL fell in love with one another, LOL.

You guys ENJOY !
