Does anyone know where I can get a full size ball python?

I can't think of anything more in demand with a very short supply. Without question this is the toughest obstacle to starting with balls quickly. Most people who have them do not want to sell them....because they understand once they sell them they are very difficult to replace.

In addition, I would add a caution. When I was aggressively seeking adult female normals when I was getting started I learned many lessons the hard way. Many people will mis-represent these animals. Remember this, if it is too good to be true.........IT IS!

I managed to scrub up some girls...I did get a couple beautys, but boy did I get some nastys. In the end I did do one smart thing for sure.....I ordered 80 early 2003 CH babies from a very honest source. I will reap that harvest next year. I have an army of girls that will be ready.

Good luck........I hope you find a couple monster fat mamas that someone is clueless about there value. It does happen but you will have to dig deep.

Not really. People don't generally bother to advertise normal males because there is so little demand for them now that dominant type morph males are widespread. The ads you are seeing are for adult females where there is so much demand that some are even willing to put up with WC animals.

Just look for ads with locations near you as the shipping will probably cost more than the normal male and drop them and e-mail and ask if they know of any cb adult males for sale in your area. Chances are you will find one.

I think the other poster was assuming you wanted a female for breeding like 99% of the people looking for adults right now.

Adult normal males on the other hand are readily available. Technically you are supposed to buy an ad on this site to post a want list but I would bet you would have no trouble finding adult normal males even local to you so you don't have to pay shipping and can even see the animal in person before buying it. Check for breeders in the classifieds that list a location that happens to be close to you or find another site where you can post free want ads.

A good place to look might be Regal Reptile in Rhode Island. They're web site is: www.regalreptile.com

That's where I got my little girl from and they are very good people there. They have some really nice pythons available both male and female. It doesn't hurt to call them or email and ask if they have any adults. I was there a few weeks ago and they did have some adult males available and they also ship.

Looks like I should learn to read.....I guess I did assume adult females.

Anyway, you guys are correct....there are some great adult ball males out there that would make an excellent pet.

If anyone else knows where I could get a healthy, captive born, adult ball python please post.

if you are just looking for a normal adult, There are normal males available. I have a few nice normals posted on KS Classifieds right now. As for females, Thats not quite as easy, I call all the local pet stores on a monthly basis, and check the humane society regularly also. I get about 4 or five females a year this way.

Heck I woulda given you one except he's wild caught, he's mid de-worm cycle though.. Lemmie know. He's right at 4ft. He's not a bad eater either, he doesnt like rats as much, tends to regurj, but he loves mice, he ate 4 today actually.

This guy has a couple of them at captivebredspecialties.com They are over 4ft. I assume they are captive bred. Does anyone know if this is a good place to buy one?
