i forgot to mention, what about false gharials? are there any of those in captivity? if so do you have any pics and where did you get it?
i don't think many people own gharials,i barely saw one for the first time at a zoo in australia a couple months ago, they also had a 19 foot salty, man that thing was monstrous,
Regarding False Gharials (Tomistoma), you can refer to
http://www.tomistoma.org
for a listing of Tomistomas on public display (Gatorland in Orlando now has a sub-adult, which is not included on the list). There are plenty of photos there also.
Bruce Schwedick of Florida has a collection, which he has successfully bred from, that were formerly on display at Cypress Gardens park in Central Florida.

There is a nice Gharial exhibit at the San Diego Zoo. I know at one time, San Antonio had a false gharial. I'm not sure if it is still there or not.
The St. Augustine Alligator Farm in Florida has at least three Gharials. I believe the Bronx Zoo has some as well.

I think, the list of US- and European Tomistoma holdings at www.tomistoma.org should be complete.
I saw Indian Gharials at the Bronx Zoo ( in that wonderful JungleWorld exhibition ) and St. Augustine Alligator Farm.
