Found my lost baby!

Aesear Jul 03, 2003 03:55 AM

As you may or may not know, I had a pair of baby leos hatch a few days ago. one was running around in the incubator and I transfered her to her baby cage. I saw that the other egg was pipped and so I kept checking on it for several hours expecting it to hatch. Finally after a good 4 hours of no movement I opened the egg up a tiny bit to see if the baby was still alive. the baby was not only alive but it was GONE! not in the egg, not in the incubator. total dissapearing act. I searched for her for the past two days with no success. I had just given up on her for the evening tonight when I decided on a whim that she might be behind the shallow box in which I keep my reptile supplies. there she was, sitting inside the box, looking rather annoyed at being disturbed. she is a real looker too! she has a great pattern on her back which I hope she keeps some semblance of as an adult. I'll have to get pictures up of her soon. We're up to a grand total of 6 babies now, with the oldest being a month old and the youngest born 3 days ago. sorry for the long post but I'm so excited at having found her!

You know, the funny thing is, this sort of this (geckos escaping/getting lost) happens all the time, it's happened to e several times. And even though it can take up to year, I have NEVER heard of anyone who asn't eventually found their gecko alive and well!I had a gecko lost for 5 months, and another person here lost a hatchling, and found a full-grown adult a year later!!!
